After serving Christ in Kenya for 21 years, we moved to Kampala, Uganda, in 2012, working with World Gospel Mission (WGM) to connect people to Jesus. We wondered if we would know how to do that in a new culture. God reassured us through His Word: “Trust in the LORD and do good; Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness” (Psalm 37:3 NASB). God invites us to trust Him and do good, to dwell in the land (Uganda) and cultivate faithfulness.
Uganda is located on the northern shore of Lake Victoria. Neighboring countries include Burundi, Rwanda, South Sudan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Kenya. Uganda is strategically located for reaching neighboring countries with the gospel of Jesus Christ. In recent years, refugees have been flooding into Uganda, giving us new opportunities to reach "beyond our borders".
Uganda and many of its neighbors are described as Christian nations. Although other religions are present, there are seemingly limitless opportunities to share God’s love. The people of these countries live with the realities of HIV/AIDS and other diseases, under-resourced education and healthcare systems with limited access, deaths of parents that leave orphans without resources, and too few churches with too few trained pastors to meet the myriad needs.

Through establishing personal relationships with people, we are able to connect them to Jesus and cultivate faithfulness. In Uganda, we serve the missionaries of WGM through leadership, discipleship, and mentoring, helping them to be empowered to serve well and thrive. We also serve Africans through Africa Gospel Church and other ministries. Through it all, we mentor individuals and help to disciple people in following Jesus.
Our desire is to connect people to Jesus through the building of relationships. We are grateful to serve in Uganda with World Gospel Mission (WGM)
